Künstlerischer Werdegang

Auf ihren Reisen will Elgin Blüher mit der Kamera hinter die Kulissen schauen und vor allem Menschen in ihrem alltäglichen und kulturellen Kontext zeigen. Um den dafür erforderlichen Zugang und persönlichen Kontakt zu finden, versucht sie, wo möglich, mit einheimischen Familien zu leben, was die für ihre Fotos nötige Nähe oft erst herstellt.

Seit kurzem gilt das Interesse Blühers vor allem der Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie, wobei sie – trotz Digitalzeitalters – weiterhin mit Film arbeitet.
